Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you make your own mannequins?
A. No. I work with existing mannequins, which I source myself or accept as part of a client commission. These are often second-hand and may require restoration before being reimagined.

Q. How are prices determined?
A. Pricing reflects several factors, including the cost of the mannequin itself, materials such as glass eyes and paints, and - most importantly - the skill, experience and time involved in creating each one-of-a-kind piece.

Q. Can I send you my mannequin for customisation?
A. Yes - please see the Client Commissions page for details.

Q. Can you customise a mannequin to my specifications?
A. To an extent. Elements such as eye colour, makeup tones and skin colour can usually be specified. The underlying sculpt and pose of the mannequin naturally place limits on what is possible, and these are always taken into account.

Q. Can you repair a damaged mannequin?
A. Repair work is undertaken only as part of a full customisation or commission. I do not offer a repair-only service.

Q. Can you customise a mannequin to resemble a celebrity?
A. Only where there is already a strong resemblance in the original sculpt. Minor refinements may be possible, but I do not carry out major facial remodelling or create likenesses from scratch.

Q. Do you replicate previous mannequins exactly?
A. No. Each Mannequins Reimagined piece is one-of-a-kind.

Q. How should I care for my mannequin?
A. Treat it as you would any work of art. For light dust or marks, gently wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately with a soft tissue or towel.

Q. What if my mannequin becomes damaged?
A. Each piece is supplied with a small amount of touch-up paint for minor scuffs or scratches. More significant damage will require proper repair, which can be discussed if needed.

Q. Do you customise male mannequins?
A. To date my work has focused exclusively on female mannequins. I may consider a male mannequin commission - contact me to discuss suitability.

Q. Why are mannequins photographed dressed and with wigs, but supplied without them?
A. Reimagined Mannequins are photographed styled to demonstrate their potential when displayed. Clothing, wigs and any props are not included unless explicitly stated and should be regarded as presentation only. Occasionally, a mannequin may be offered as a special piece complete with an outfit.

Q. How much is shipping?
A. Shipping costs vary depending on destination, box size and weight, courier service, and insurance requirements. Exact costs are calculated individually.
